The class begins on Friday with a “Celebration of the Senses,” featuring complimentary snacks and beverages.

Create your own mixed-media Tree of Life canvas while engaging in a thoughtfully curated sensory experience.

Participants will be guided through an exercise designed to enhance the creative process. This experience focuses on the heart center, which supports compassion, self-awareness, and emotional balance, providing a meaningful foundation for artistic expression.

The creative journey begins with intentional reflection. You will be encouraged to explore thought-provoking questions that inspire positivity and self-connection, establishing both a visual and energetic foundation before bringing your personal Tree of Life to life on canvas.

Return to the studio on Saturday, July 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to continue refining your work and bring the full character and expression of your Tree of Life to completion.

Originally from Illinois, Deb Drager has lived and worked across Missouri, Florida, and Oklahoma, embracing a free-spirited, creative lifestyle. For her, home is not defined by a single place, but by the ability to create, remain connected to nature, and be surrounded by those she loves.

With a career spanning more than five decades, Deb has built a distinguished reputation as a commercial freelance artist, graphic designer, master decorative and fine artist, instructor, author, and inspirational mentor. She works from her studio nestled in the valley outside Talihina, Oklahoma, where she focuses on commissioned artwork, murals, graphic art, illustrations, and the continued development of her personal collection.

Deb is deeply passionate about exploring the wide range of mediums available to today’s artists. She is excited to work with the Design 7 Seven product line and is honored to teach at the 7 Seven Artist Studio in North Richland Hills, Texas. Known for her innovative approach to special finishes, she considers herself an “art alchemist,” continually pushing creative boundaries to bring new ideas to life. Above all, she finds the greatest fulfillment in sharing her knowledge and inspiring others to discover and ignite their own creative energy.

August 24- August 28 | 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Join Rachel Downs for an immersive 5-day mural painting class where she shares everything she’s learned over 20+ years in the field. With experience creating more than 150 custom backdrops and 80 murals, Rachel will guide you through the entire process—from initial concept to finished piece.

In this hands-on class, you’ll explore design, layout, and color mixing, while learning which paints and tools work best for mural projects. Rachel will also share practical tips and techniques to help you create stunning, efficient, and impactful artwork.

Participants will collaborate on two or three mural sections featuring a variety of styles, with plenty of time for questions along the way. Each student will leave with a piece of the class mural—plus the skills and confidence to start their own mural projects. Let’s get painting!

All materials will be provided for the class. However, you’re welcome to bring your own large brush, notebook, and rags if you prefer to use your personal supplies.

Rachel Downs has been a full-time freelance artist since 2005, with a lifelong passion for working in paint. Over the past 20 years, she and her talented team have created custom finishes on nearly every type of surface imaginable, along with more than 120 backdrops and 80+ murals throughout the area.

In addition to her professional work, Rachel has led countless workshops across the country, teaching scenic art and faux finishing techniques. Through her work with PAINTology, she strives to build meaningful connections with clients and bring their stories to life—whether for a home, a business, or a theatrical production.

Rachel is also the proud wife of Michael Downs, owner and operator of Downsart Inc., and a mom of three energetic and opinionated kids. Outside of painting, she enjoys baking, singing, spending time with dogs, giving hugs, and getting competitive over board games.
