Class: Lets Get Edgy: The Hidden Power of Edgework
Cost: $150.00
Instructor: Tarah Spratt
I have always been captivated with stained-glass artwork ever since I beheld the great Cathedrals throughout the south of France in the 1990’s. My fascination is the black lines which create bold edgework and the gentle details the color and shapes of the glass hold within them. These windows exude a feeling of femininity and strength. Inspired by the elements I and in these glass pieces I approach my current artwork to capture femininity and strength once again. And yes, sometimes a bit of whimsy. I ditched the black lines as it cannot be balanced by the lightness of sunlit glass when painted on canvas. I create bold detailed diminutional lines, yet use special color combinations that will vibrate the canvas to pop with color. Please join me in creating a canvas inspired by nature, )owing colors and the hidden power that colorful edgework captures. You need no prior painting experience, as we will go step by step through the process together.
